MOSCOW RESCUE SERVICE

A small two storey building in the Taganka district of Moscow is the headquarters of the Moscow Rescue Service. The film gives viewers an insightful glimpse of the rescuers’ working day. The crew here has all the necessary equipment to deal with all emergencies, whether they are on the ground, in the air or under water: hydraulic wedges and specialized pumps for rescuing people involved in road accidents, a noose for catching aggressive animals and many other useful things. We follow the rescuers as they remove a steel basket from the boy’s head, save two freezing swans on the lake; rescue the worker, buried under 5 tons of sand and cope with many other non-standard situations. More than 11 000 emergency calls are made to the service during the 24 shift, the staff is in no danger of becoming unemployed!
