How the Kratos XQ-58 Valkyrie Drone Discovered United States Air Force Stealth Experimental

As the Air Force considers launching a program of record for autonomous drone wingmen to fly alongside next-generation fighters, one of its test squadrons will begin flying the Kratos XQ-58A Valkyrie on a regular basis. “The goal is to leverage this platform for experimentation with crewed-uncrewed teaming display solutions by fall 2023,“ Nygard said. While the news release did not elaborate on what these “crewed-uncrewed teaming display solutions“ would entail, they could potentially pave the way for Valkyrie to begin flying in an airborne jet under the control of a fighter pilot. Kendall has stated that Air Force fighter pilots must be able to test potential CCA options such as the Valkyrie, Boeing’s MQ-28 Ghost Bat, and General Atomics’ MQ-20 Avenger in order to develop trust in unmanned systems and learn how to integrate them into daily operations. #drones #drone #usmilitary
