White House erases Joe Biden’s ’oyster bunnies’ gaffe from records

US President Joe Biden has been mocked online after incorrectly saying “oyster bunnies“ during the White House Easter egg roll on Sunday. The incident occurred as Biden welcomed the costumed characters to the South Lawn, attempting to gather them on the balcony. “And, by the way, say hello to our Easter bunnies. Come on up, bunnies. Get up here so they can see you. Come on, get in there. Pretty big bunny, huh,“ Biden said. Social media users wasted no time in pulling up the 81-year-old whose presidency has been plagued by gaffes. “There’s no misinterpreting that. Biden clearly said “oyster bunnies“. The White House is an embarrassment,“ one user wrote on X. Despite the social media frenzy, the official White House transcript did not include Biden’s misspeak, implying the President had spoken the line correctly. The gaffe occurred a day after Biden acknowledged Easter Sunday as “Transgender Day of Visibility,“ despite it coinciding with one of the holiest days of the Christian calendar.
