Petr Yan sparring from 2016 to 2022. Coming from a background in the elite of the Russian amateur boxing system, Yan fights from behind a high guard, pressuring opponents while maintaining distance. Based at Arkhangel Mikhail, Yan also trains at Tiger Muay Thai, a prominent striking gym in Thailand which has been home to other UFC fighters such as Alexander Volkanovski. The former UFC Bantamweight champion, Yan is currently the #2 contender and is scheduled to face Merab Dvalishvili at UFC Fight Night 221.
