155mm autonomous towed howitzer system; operational efficiency combined with a highly versatile advanced towed gun concept The 155mm 52 caliber ATHOS independent gun features autonomous operation and automatic laying capabilities. The gun’s low center-of-gravity, overall length and tandem wheels mounted on the walking beams ensure smooth travel at all speeds and on rough terrain, posing no limitations on the towing vehicle’s speed and capabilities. The gun can also maneuver in and out of position with its own power. The artillery systems are equipped with FCC, MVR,INS and TAS. The Elbit Systems ATHOS has been field-tested for accuracy, stability and reliability during moving and firing maneuvers and is based on in-service systems and components. The Elbit Systems ATHOS howitzer is capable of a range of more than 40km and utilizes a self- Operational Characteristics propelling capability and automatic laying mode. It is integrated with fully-computerized systems, achieving automatic control, accurate n
