Emotional intelligence in academia

The workshop will focus on the concepts of emotional intelligence and empathy to clarify what they really mean and how empathy contributes to successful presentation of your research. We will discuss how to make your texts credible and efficient and how to provide and receive non-evaluative feedback. The speaker will: • present cases of efficient interaction with colleagues and partners in research and education • specify and emphasize some aspects of academic writing and style related to empathy and emotional intelligence to explain some of their “rules and norms” • suggest techniques of non-evaluative feedback and provide an opportunity to train them.
