A court in Hong Kong has ordered the liquidation of China Evergrande. The bankrupt property developer has failed to come up with a workable plan to restructure its debts of over $300 billion. Evergrande’s executive director insists Chinese homebuyers will be protected from the liquidation, which only affects the firm’s international business.
