Welcome to Directed Energy Deposition - Metal Additive Manufacturing

Directed Energy Deposition or DED is a category of additive manufacturing processes that use a coaxial feed of metal material of powder or wire. These materials are led to an energy source (usually consisting of a laser) to create a melt pool on a base substrate. DED usually uses a nozzle head on a dedicated CNC machine to deposit and melt the material at the same time quickly and with minimal waste. FIX Repair existing geometries of failures or defects. Extend the life of parts. ADD Deposit material o
