British air force conduct NATO air mission over Romania. Four British Typhoon jets patrolled the skies over Romania’s southeast on Thursday footage from Britain’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) showed, in a regular NATO air policing mission. NATO members stepped up air policing missions and sent troops to countries on its eastern flank in response to Russia’s military build-up along the borders with Ukraine, before it invaded on Feb. 24. An MoD press release quoted Armed Forces minister James Heappey as saying UK was committed to NATO and European security in the face of Russia’s invasion. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Thursday the alliance was not convinced Russia was negotiating in good faith in peace talks with Ukraine because Moscow’s military objective in the invasion had not changed.
