The Heat: Russia-Ukraine conflict

The United States, along with the Group of Seven Nations and European allies, announced new sanctions against Russia on Wednesday, targeting banks and the daughters of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The U.S. says the sanctions are in direct response to the alleged war crimes committed by Russian troops on civilians in Bucha, Ukraine. Russia has denied targeting civilians in Bucha or elsewhere. Ukrainian officials say Russian forces have left the capital, Kyiv and are shifting their operations to eastern and southern Ukraine. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg says there’s no sign this conflict will end anytime soon. Joining the discussion: Pavel Felgenhauer is a defense analyst and columnist for Novaya Gazeta.
