Recorded 15 years ago today - July 26th, 2006. “The Ísafjörður show turns out to be quite difficult for the band in the crazy small confines of the hall, but is received rousingly well by another collection of the curious and the, well, curious. The undoubted highlight of the evening is the parade during Se Lest, for which tonight the Horny Brasstards are joined by the Ísafjörður town band. The twenty or so players dressed in their royal blue uniforms march from stage left and out through the crowd to a huge ovation. Later, the all-ages band will march through the town, up and down the main street and down to the water’s edge. Getting into the spirit of things Jónsi grabs a trombone, Kjartan a trumpet and Orri what I’m told is a sousaphone although to me it looks like a tuba. Their pitiful efforts are widely photographed by the local media and the next day a picture in Fréttablaðið will be captioned as Orri playing the oboe – I may be wrong, but I’m not that wrong.
