Zama lives one hour south of the PROTO Factory in Tijuana, Mexico making him one of our most local team riders to us in San Diego, California. We first met him in 2016 at the San Diego Street Jam and again in 2018 in Tijuana at a Park Jam but it wasn’t until 2019 when Chema Cardenas moved to Tijuana for a year and started exploring the streets of TJ with Zama that the beast was unlocked and we began flowing him. Since then he has become one of the most dominant riders from the Mexican scooter scene. In 2021 Zama won the 3rd Annual Keendeath (Remoto) TV Gram Video competition with his team as a Rider, Filmer & Editor along with Best Trick and Most Creative Clip. Then he won the Chihuahua Street Jam in 2023 and the Hermosillo Street Jam in 2024. Zama also hosts the Tijuana Street Jam and organized the 2018, 2019, 2021 & 2022 jams for the Mexican scene. In 2022 he additionally released two full video parts, one for OHLAY and one for D Scooter Shop along with a full video parts worth of “leftovers“, followed by a full video part in the Remoto 2 full length by Chema in 2023; all parts edited by himself. Zama is part of an elite few riders who contribute equally to the scooter community and culture both on and off the scooter through his relentless riding, filming, editing and event organization and we are proud to have had him with us and officially Welcome him to the PROTO Brand.
