Quake III PS2 vs Dreamcast (Camping Grounds) Comparison

NOTE: My Replacement computer is not that good, so there may be some visual glitches in the vid that were not in the original games. I’ve decided that for my Quake III and Unreal Tournament comparisons between the PS2 and DC versions, I’m going to do it on a map by map basis for the comparable maps. I am running S-Video through the VGA box on the DC, and through an S-Video wire on the PS2 to make these comparisons. I am also using the default system controllers seeing as the PS2 version doesn’t support a mouse, and I don’t own a DC mouse. I have an older comparison using composite cables, and to sum up my take. PS2 version seems to have better lighting and effects, and better control with the controller. It also runs a lot better for split screen action. It’s load times are much longer than the DC version taking at least a minute to load the maps.
