‘I Made a Mistake!’: Filmmaker Oliver Stone Regrets Voting for Joe Biden, Says He May Start WWIII by Jamie White July 29th 2023 Two-time Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone said he regrets voting for Joe Biden in the 2020 election, warning his policies could spark World War III with Russia. “I voted for him — I made a mistake!” Stone said in an interview with actor Russell Brand on Friday. “This is a potential World War III,” the Platoon director said. “This is the same situation as World War I, in a sense. The stupidity of it — because of the alliances and the fears and the built-up phobias. If we don’t stop this, what Biden is doing, I voted for him — I made a mistake! — thinking that he was an old man now that he would calm down, he’d be more mellow and so forth. I didn’t see that at all.” “I voted for him – I made a mistake!” @TheOliverStone flags his concerns about the US’s involvement in the Ukraine & Russia war – don’t miss our full conversation streaming SOON on Rumble — Russell Brand (@rustyrockets) July 28, 2023 Stone also suggested that Biden is not in control of his administration, but rather the “neoconservative movement who started the war in Iraq.” “I see a man [Biden] who maybe is not in charge of his own administration. Who knows [if] he’s going to fall down somewhere. It seems that he’s dragging us stupidly into a confrontation with a power that’s not going to give,” he said. “This is their borders. This is their world. This is NATO going into Ukraine. This is a whole other story.” “You have to look at the reasons for this war, and whenever you do, the Americans like to simplify and say it’s a question of a Russian invasion of Ukraine. That’s very simplistic and very black-and-white,” he added. The Natural Born Killers director has been a vocal critic of U.S. foreign policy towards Ukraine and Russia, blaming the U.S. for sparking the Maidan coup in 2014 that led to the overthrow of pro-Russia president Viktor Yanukovych. But he’s also criticized Russia for invading Ukraine in Feb. 2022. Stone also interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2017 for his four-part Showtime docuseries The Putin Interviews. Stone had also produced the 2016 documentary Ukraine on Fire to highlight the U.S. government’s provocative foreign policy towards Ukraine and Russia over the last 20 years, which was subsequently censored by YouTube and Google following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This comes a few days after Biden promised $400 million more to Ukraine in “security assistance”, including armored vehicles, air defense systems, artillery and ammunition, and anti-armor weapons. Meanwhile, Putin on Friday reiterated that Ukraine joining NATO represents a “fundamental threat” to Russia’s national security. Watch the full Oliver Stone interview:
