Quilt as you sew Log Cabin Quilt

This is a fun technique if you like to sew. If you are a beginner I would suggest that you do a quicker project first and I have the link to my potholder video down below that is the same design as this quilt. Or make a table runner using this technique. This quilt measured 36”x 44” when done. If I had made 12 more squares it would have made a nice sized lap quilt. Measurements for all fabric and batting cuts are below: Backing Squares-8“x8“ Batting squares-8“x8“ Binding-2-1/4“ strips, folded in half Front sashing-1“ strips Back sashing-1-1/2“ strips, folded in half 1-1/2“ Log Cabin strips in order of application: Gray 1-1/2“ (square) Teal 1-1/2“ (square) Teal 2-1/2“ Gray 2-1/2“ Gray 3-1/2“ Teal 3-1/2“ Teal 4-1/2“ Gray 4-1/2“ Gray 5-1/2“ Teal 5-1/2“ Teal 6-1/2“ Gray 6-1/2“ Gray 7-1/2“ What I like to do is after the first seam of the two 1-1/2” squares I then make sure that the teal square is on top. Then I proceed with the teal 2-1/2” square on the right side and work my way clockwise with the rest of the strips. Below is approximate amounts for different sized quilts: Twin-117 blocks Full-143 blocks Queen-168 blocks King-196 blocks Potholder video- Missouri Star Quilt Company “How to make binding and apply binding to a quilt“ video- For Business Inquiries: jbcooksandsews@
