Prince Of Wales Chattri Memorial (1921)

Item title reads - Prince of Wales unveils beautiful “Chattri“ a domed Hindu memorial, on spot where fallen Indian soldiers during war were cremated on funeral pyres. Brighton, East Sussex. Prince Edward, the Prince of Wales walks up to the memorial which is covered in a flag, he pulls the string and the memorial is unveiled. He salutes and talks to another man as they walk down the steps, other soldiers are present. M/S as the Prince reads an address from a paper. M/S as he walks about and meets people, he gets in his car and salutes, a man shakes his hand. Intertitle - ’ The children give the Prince a tremendous reception on his first visit to London-by-the-Sea.’ L/S of crowds of children waving flags, his car drives down the road and he salutes.
