The Fastest Reader in the World 🤯

Speed reading is a set of techniques that people use to read faster. There are many methods to do this, like “chunking“ (grouping words together) and reducing the habit of silently sounding out words in your head (known as subvocalization). You might have come across books, online videos, apps, or even classes that claim to teach these techniques. But, just a heads up, there isn’t much concrete scientific evidence that proves speed reading always works, so some experts are skeptical about it. Evelyn Wood, a teacher from the 1950s, is credited with popularizing the term “speed reading“. She wondered why some people read faster than others. One day, while sweeping her hand across a book page, she realized that her hand’s movement helped guide her eyes faster across the text. She used this technique, taught it at the University of Utah, and later introduced it to the public.
