Violent clashes occurred between the Syrian Arab Army and rebels in Kinsabba in northern Latakia, during an offensive to liberate the town. The Syrian army utilised tanks, heavy machine guns and artillery in the offensive in an effort to regain control of the town, which was taken over by militants in June.
