Damon Albarn on his latest record, Brexit and the melting Icelandic glaciers in his backyard

At the start of 2020 Damon Albarn started creating a solo-record full of hints to isolation. And then Covid came. A coincidence? It’s almost impossible. Everything Damon Albarn has done has this foreseeing element. Or how he puts it: ‘I don’t write songs about now, I write songs about the future.’ We had an extensive conversation with the man behind Blur and Gorillaz about Brexit and the climate crisis.
