Myanmar military airstrike kills dozens days before Burmese new year festival

Dozens of civilians, including women and children, have reportedly been killed in an airstrike in central Myanmar. This is believed to be the deadliest attack in the history of the country, and comes during the Burmese New Year period this week. The death toll remains unclear, with reports putting the figure from between 30 and some 100. The shadow National Unity Government has slammed this attack, saying it amounts to a war crime.
