Blinken visits Saudi Arabia to steady relations, talking human rights & Israel’s integration

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday reaffirmed the Biden administration’s commitment to normalization between Israel and Saudi Arabia as he wrapped up his first solo visit to the Kingdom. Blinken also said that he discussed human rights in his meetings in Saudi Arabia and stressed that “progress on human rights strengthens our relationship.” On human rights Blinken said it was in Saudi Arabia’s interest to pursue modernisation that includes human rights.
