How to Make a Spicy Red Salsa (Roja) for Tacos & Chips | The Frugal Chef

Hi guys! I hope you are all well. Let’s make a red salsa for tacos or chips today. This is made with tomatoes, guajillo chillies, arbol chillies and garlic. It is easy to make and it is fantastic. Follow me : Twitter : Facebook : Instagram : How to Make Salsa Roja 2 guajillo chillies 15 arbol chillies 3 large Roma tomatoes — washed and dried 3 unpeeled garlic cloves 1/4 cup of the soaking liquid Salt to taste 1 tablespoon vinegar (I use red wine vinegar) Remove the stems and seeds from the guajillo and the arbol chillies. I suggest strgonly that you use gloves. Place the chillies on a hot, dry skillet and press them so that they char. Make sure you are working in a well ventilated area. Flip and press them a couple of times and transfer them to a bowl. Cover the chillies with boiling water and add a small plate to weigh them down. Soak for 20 minutes. Wipe down the skillet and add the tomatoes and garlic. Char all sides and transfer to a blender. Add the soaked chillies and about 1/4 cup of the soaking liquid. Add salt to taste and the vinegar.
