African Cichlid Species - Pseudotropheus sp. “Perspicax Red Cap“ (Ndumbi)

Comman Name : Orange Cap Ndumbi, Red Cap Ndumbi, Red Top, Scientific Name : Pseudotropheus sp. “Perspicax Red Cap“ Origin : Lake Malawi Africa, Ndumbi and Pombo Reef are the locals Family: Cichlidae, Mbuna Size : PH : 7.2 - 8.4 Temperature : 76-80 F Temperament : Very Aggressive Considered to be a dwarf mbuna because wild specimens rarely exceed 4.5 inches but captive specimens have been known to get up to 6 inches. This little African is quite pugnacious for its size and should be housed with larger Mbuna to keep them in check. Amazing color and a hyper attitude makes them a great addition to any large mbuna cichlid tank. Males should be housed with at least 3 females to distribute their crazy aggression. Two “Orange Cap“ morphs are available in the hobby, one coming from “Ndumbi“ and the other from “Pombo Rocks“.
