He came into this world as Winston Foster on 15 January 1956, in the nation’s capital. However, as an albino his unenviable childhood led to him being taken into the care of the Alpha Boy’s School, famed for the good works of the sisters of mercy led by Sister Mary Ignatius Davies. The school had nurtured such legends as Tommy McCook, Don Drummond, Johnny `Dizzy’ Moore, Rico Rodriguez and Leroy Smart to name a few. He built his early career around this encumbrance and the crowds loved him for his diffident absurdities performed with clever lyricism. His early victory in the annual Tastee Talent Show led to critical acclaim and within a matter of months became a headlining act.
