On this day in 1938, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain declared “peace for our time’’ concerning the Munich Agreement. Here is a British Movietone report from Chamberlain’s second visit to Germany. Hitler arrives by train and drives through town of Godesberg to the Hotel Dreesen. Mr Chamberlain arrives at the Cologne Airport and is greeted by von Ribbentrop and von Weizsacker. He is driven by car to Hotel Petersberg with Sir Neville Henderson. Mr Chamberlain In Germany - Mr Chamberlain leaves his hotel to confer with Hitler. The next day he drives with von Ribbentrop to the Cologne Airport where he enters a plane to fly to London.
