NEW FISSURE - Fagradalsfjall Eruption • Iceland • Day 18 • 05/04/2021
Yesterday morning, , around 12:00 a new eruptive fissure, approximately 150 meters long opened up around 400 meters NE to the one already active since the 19th of March.
The fissure is splitted in 3 main en-echelon segments.

The first scenes have been taken around 45 mins after the fissure started erupting. The drone footage in the afternoon.
The lava flow reached in less than two hours the bottom of Meradalir, a valley northeast of Geldingadalir, traveling in a narrow notch, approximatley 1km to the east-northeast.
