My first solo flight in a Cessna 150 at Camden airport, Sydney Australia

**disclaimer** the gopro mounts have been approved by CASA Flying solo is the first benchmark to reach for every pilot and I still can’t believe I did it! I remember for my Year 6 yearbook profile, under ’what you want to be when you grow up’ I put down ’flight attendant’. I don’t know why I never thought I could be a pilot, I guess it was even more uncommon to see ladies in the cockpit back then! Being able to fly a circuit sums up all the basic skills needed to fly an aeroplane: climbing, turning, flying straight and level, descending, take off and landing, communicating with the radio tower, as well as knowing how to deal with engine failures (though uncommon). Flying a solo is the first time flying the circuit without an instructor in calm, good weather.
