HypeLTD are happy to introduce another new talent in the form of J. Alvarez. It’s a name you won’t know yet, but the man behind it -- Seattle based producer Chris 214 -- has already made a name for himself with some rude electro, techno and even ghetto tech releases on in-the-know labels like Frustrated Funk (a subsidiary of Clone) Harbour City Sorrow (and again) and others. Now, though, he is on a house tip, and it is for that reason that he has assumed this new moniker... The hallmarks of electro still pepper the sounds on offer here -- the way they are wired together with analogue machines, the robotised funk -- but the beats are firmly four four with warming synths squirming throughout. “Sin Nombre“ is the first example of that with its spoken female monologue and choppy percussion. “Take“ then shimmers and shimmys through more mysterious waters with a sub heavy bottom end, radiant synths and scraping hits sounding like the bubbly house of Jack Dixon or George Fit
