Try as you might, you can never perform alchemy or find a Philosopher’s Stone, and no amount of concentrating on perceived spiritual pressure will allow you to achieve Bleach’s “bankai.” However, Demon Slayer/Kimetsu no Yaiba funnily enough, appears to be more grounded. Powers abound yes, but all directly tied to something we’re quite familiar with—breath. But *does* breath contain these mystical properties? Can changing your breathing transform you into Tanjiro 2.0, artfully gliding through the air, with the grace and force of ocean waves? Maybe.
