US Gives Ukraine Houthi-Bound Iranian Weapons “Enough to Equip a Brigade“ Amid Congress Aid Impasse

The US has given Ukraine some of the Iranian weapons and ammunitions it seized en route to Yemen’s Houthi rebels, the US military said. The transfer last week came as Ukraine’s outgunned forces suffer from significant shortages of ammunition and US Republican lawmakers block new aid. The US transfer of seized Iranian weapons does not address Kyiv’s need for key items such as artillery and air defence munitions. The US has vowed to take steps to aid Ukraine but Republican lawmakers have stalled a $60 billion support package in the Congress since last year.
