WHAT GUITAR ADVICE ROBERT FRIPP GAVE ME ON THE PHONE! This can save you from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

You don’t want Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and tendonitis is horrible, so looking cool with the guitar way low is okay, if you’re more of a Slash who’s a master of bringing the neck up and down and you are comfortable with your thumb over the neck. Guys play like that for 60 years, but for 8 string guitars, Prog Metal, Jazz you want your thumb in a classical position which unfortunately calls for raising the strap little by little until you don’t mind wearing a . Seriously if you sit down with the guitar on your left leg assuming (opposite for lefties) you’re right handed and adjust your strap, so as you stand it’s in the same spot, you will be okay then. Wrist’s should be straight as possible on the fretting hand to mitigate your tendons being dragged, choked, and even worse, collapsed or detached. Long story short and I’ve suffered through it, bad posture ends up resulting in inflammation then Carpal Tunnel or tendon problems, but if you play with your thumb over the guitar it can be slung down where a lot of guys like it. Telecaster guys like, Jimmy Page are great at that, my suggestion is just listen to your body. In regards to the rest of my channel, I just started posting 2 weeks ago and need some guidance and suggestions, as well as subscribers? I discuss very openly my thoughtful opinions regarding guitar playing, ways to save money; like DIY repair, tutorials, gear exploration, and honest guitar/equipment reviews! I have a lot of years of experience touring, playing guitar, playing in bands, session work, recording, and testing out new gear. So please check out my channel content and my bands. I will work hard at this channel I just started and I will make it better. During that process I plan on helping people save money, time, and maybe learn a thing or or two? Thanks -Ryan
