Italy’s Venice flooded by highest tide in 50 years

The mayor of Venice is blaming climate change for floods overwhelming the city which millions of tourists visit every year. More than 85 percent of its historic squares and streets are under water and the damage sustained is thought to amount to hundreds of millions of dollars. Residents are also saying that the city never finished constructing the flood barriers which were supposed to protect it.
