ANDY RUIZ JR (USA) vs KELSEY ARNOLD (USA) ACTION FIGHT

Welcome guys thanks for joining me again in this update. I hope you’re all well. So guys, the fight between Andy Ruiz Jr and Kelsey Arnold took place on February 5th, 2011, at the Maywood Center, in Los Angeles County, California. This bout was a non-title fight that was only set for 6 rounds at the heavyweight class but was a complete boxing workout for both boxers. This fight was sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission and was a Top Rank sports event filled with boxing skills. Coming into the fight, Andy Ruiz of Mexican descent had an undefeated record and a seven-fight win streak. The bout was part of Ruiz’s journey to establish himself in the professional boxing world as a legitimate heavyweight. His improvement was visible in his online training and boxing drills. Kelsey was not so much a force to be reckoned with as he had a record of 4 wins, 6 defeats and 2 draws. So this journeyman was definitely an underdog in this fight. From the onset, Ruiz demonstrated superior hand speed, power, and technical skills compared to Arnold. Ruiz, known for his quick combinations and powerful punches, took control of the fight early. Ruiz applied consistent pressure, using his jab effectively to set up combinations. He targeted Arnold with body shots and headshots, breaking down his defenses. You could clearly see the frustration in Kelsey when he pushed Ruiz against the ropes. Ruiz, of course, responded immediately by punching him, which deservedly sent him to the canvas. This incident was covered in boxing news and sports news. In the third round, Ruiz’s relentless assault paid off. He landed a series of powerful punches that overwhelmed Arnold. The referee saw no response from Arnold to give him any confidence that Arnold could defend himself any longer and waived the fight off, resulting in a knockout victory. Now, guys, this was an early-stage version of Andy Ruiz. You could definitely appreciate the hand speed and boxing knowledge he possessed at this stage in his career. As the shorter guy he targeted the body and then directed his attacks to the open areas up top. I will definitely be uploading more of Andy Ruiz and perhaps see when he transitioned coaches from Freddy Roach to Eddy Reynoso.
