▶️For the first time, the ‘: Time of Heroes’ Festival has been held in a NATO country—Türkiye! Viewers were grateful for the opportunity to learn the truth about what is happening in Donbass. Screenings were attended by full audiences—Ankara’s Russian House had more than 300 visitors. The first film festival outside Russia, ‘: Time of Heroes’ was held in Ankara as part of a joint project by RT and Rossotrudnichestvo. There were four films in the program. The evening opened with Olga Kiriy’s ‘Dr Donbass: Behind the Frontline’. Also, the films ‘Young Hope of Donbass’ by Olga Starostina and Mikhail Burov and Ekaterina Kitaitseva’s ‘Walking After War’ were shown. The guests also watched the film ‘Oblast’ by the Turkish channel Ulusal. Olga Kiriy, our military documentary film-maker, was present and answered audience questions for almost an hour after the screening. Ticket-holders asked whether it was dangerous to work in Donbass, and why Ukraine does not respect international military conventions and continues to kill civilians. So far, besides Türkiye, the ‘: Time of Heroes’ festival has been held in six Russian cities, and always to a full house. The festival will continue to expand its operations—we will report on screenings in other countries later.
