Rescue dogs jump from a helicopter

The success story of the Cani Salvataggio, the worldwide unique water rescue dog squadron, began at the end of the 1980s on the Lake Garda. The Italian Rescue Dog Squadron is composed of Newfoundlanders and retrievers - dogs that love water and weigh at least 30 kilograms. Together with their masters, they are trained as lifeguards for three years. Ferruccio Pilenga, the founder of the Italian Rescue Dog School, accompanied the training sessions and observed the climax of the training: the jump of dog and master from the helicopter.
