Symphony No. 104 in D major (H. 1/104) is the final symphony composed by Joseph Haydn. It is the twelfth in the series of London symphonies and is often referred to as the London Symphony, though this designation is somewhat arbitrary since there are eleven others in the series. In Germany, it is frequently called the Salomon Symphony, named after Johann Peter Salomon, who facilitated Haydn’s two tours of London. However, it’s worth noting that this symphony is one of three from the last twelve written specifically for Viotti’s Opera Concerts, not for Salomon.
