You’ll learn how to put a female into a position showing movement and elegance. With a solo ballerina dancing around the stage under the spotlight in a perfect pointed pose with her arms out and leg up, this painting will come to life. You’ll learn how to paint fabric with dimension, a shiny floor that shows reflections, and the illusion of a light coming from behind the curtain. Quick tips are given on how to make a skin tone, as well as, how to show muscle and the form of her body. Canvas: 16x20 stretched primed canvas
Brushes: 1/2 flat bristle (large), #2 round (small)
Acrylic Paint: titanium white, mars black, burnt umber (brown), deep yellow, ultramarine blue, fire red
Other: #2 pencil, palette, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. pencil - Draw outline for stage and curtains
2. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint back wall of stage with black
3. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint stage floor with black, brown and white
4. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint 1st layer of fabric on curtains and front of stage with red and black (dark red)
5. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint 1st layer of spotlight with blue
6. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint shadow on fabric with black and dark red (made in step 4)
7. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint highlights on fabric with red, dark red and yellow
8. #2 round brush - Paint 1st layer of gold stage decorations with brown, yellow and white
9. #2 round brush - Paint 1st step of ballerina with red, yellow, brown and white
10. #2 round brush - Finish details on front of stage with black, white, gold and yellow
11. #2 round brush - Paint ballerina dress and shoes with white and red
12. #2 round brush - Finish details on ballerina with tan, black, red, white, brown and yellow
13. #2 round brush - Paint ballerina reflection on floor with white, pink, tan
14. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint 2nd layer of spotlight with blue and white
15. #2 round brush - sign with black
