Old Contemptibles march - part 1. Good footage of people at a military parade in England; in fact one of the better films of crowd at a parade & after from this period. Listed as Old Contemptibles’ March; which refers to the British Army at the beginning of the war; which a German leader had called contemptible; the army jokingly took on the nickname Old Contemptibles. DS crowd massed along cleared street; others walking past in FG; Union Jack. Another view; looking up street; people all gathered on side; a few in street; waiting for parade. Shot looking over crowd as parade approaches; first people look around in various directions; then more people push toward front as a float comes. Someone waving flag; as float passes some sparkling confetti is thrown into crowd. (It seems parade ends) Shots of crowd breaking up; scattering through park; British and Australian soldiers walking past; kids climbing on cannons; etc. Back to parade.
