Felting Raw Wool Fleece - Timelapse

Felting some sheep’s wool into what some would call a “vegan sheepskin“, although it’s neither vegan or skin. I guess I call it “felted wool fleece“. What would you call it? Hope you enjoy :) -------------------------------------------- What I’m doing in this video: - I bought sheep’s wool - raw fleece - that had been sheared from the sheep so that it was still pretty much holding together as an entire fleece if handled carefully before felting it. - I had extra wool that I carded (about 100gr) into rolags/roving/batt(?) - Using a frame of wood and chicken wire (75x95cm). - In the bottom of the frame I put bubblewrap with the bubbles upwards. - I put the wool in the frame upsidedown (cut-side upwards). I went through it all making sure it was neatly packed and in the right directions. - Then put the carded wool on top of the other wool in two layers. - Drenched it all in warm water. - Started to felt it, using a piece of tulle fabric just to be able to touch the wool without it sticking to my hands. More warm water and såpa (soap?) and keep rubbing the wool in circles on top of the tulle fabric. - Then I rolled it together tightly, with a fabric around it and tied it together. - Then I rolled this with my feet on the ground to felt it even more. Rolled it from all four edges of the “rug“ - so open it up and reroll it on the stick from all sides to make the felting even. I think I rolled about 200 feet-rolls in total, but it depends on your wool. Check every now and then so you don’t felt it too much. -Then I gave it a soak in the lake. - Then I had to fiddle a bit with getting locks free and sort out some patches that had been felted too much and also remove some loose wool. - When done you should I put it in the sink, twice with only water to wash it out, then a third time with a bit of vinegar essence in the water and let it soak for a few hours before I got it out and let it dry.
