The music was composed by David Arnold and it is one of my favorite film scores of all time. Just like in my Rocketeer cover, my goal was to get it as close to the original as possible. In this case that mean figuring out each of the instruments involved, learning their parts, and replicating the chanting choir at the end of the piece. For the instruments I used a fairly even mix of Spitfire’s BBC Symphony Orchestra and EastWest’s Hollywood Orchestra. For the choir, half of it is the Hollywood Choirs from EastWest using their wordbuilder tool to plug in the right syllables. The other half is my own vocals using the techniques I learned in my Viking Choir experiment to multiply my own voice. About 100 live vocal tracks were mixed in by the end.
