The weapon, called the Dimension Tide, unexpectedly allows a species of Meganulon into our modern world. The creature is able to quickly expand its numbers and will ultimately evolve into its final form of Megaguirus, a giant dragonfly capable of ultra-fast speed and sound. While the special branch of the Japan Self Defense Forces (called the G-Grasper unit) attempt to engage Godzilla and use the Dimension Tide to get rid of the monster once and for all, the insects are drawn to Godzilla and look to feed on the monster.
