VIKINGMAN As many of you know, when we first went to Europe circumstances forced us to play in the streets. We played in Dublin first for awhile and later moved to Copenhagen in Denmark. Again, we couldn’t find anywhere to play indoors, so we ended up playing in the freezing cold on Strøget street. In a moment of weakness and doubt, just as we were asking ourselves, “What the F are we doing here?!”, we heard a yell. A deep voice bellowed at us, commanding us to get it together. “HEY, you two! STOP! GET UP! GET WARM the Viking way and PLAY! NOW!” Standing in front of us, a tall monster of a man, a Viking Man stared down at us. So…we started playing! We saw our Vikingman frequently during the 3 months that followed. He always had a bottle of something in his hand, and he had no home, but he had a heart of gold. He became our guardian angel on that street. Looking out for us, he would let us know if the police were coming. He was perhaps our first agent—when we had an audience, and even when we didn’t, he would ask passersby to throw some bills our way. His life story was a sad one and he ended up homeless, on the streets, but he was a music lover, he had a wonderful sense of humor and most of all he was kind. We played our guitars, and he played a part in our lives in Copenhagen that we’ll never forget. God Bless You Vikingman, wherever you are we say GRACIAS Cuando recién nos fuimos a Europa las circunstancias nos forzaron a tocar en la calle primero en Dublín .unos meses después en Copenhaguen así es de que nos encontramos otra vez en la misma situación enfrentando el mega frío del invierno en esa calle Stroget y en un momento de flaqueza donde surgen pensamientos de duda donde la pesadez de la incertidumbre se sentían hasta los huesos aún más que el frío Nos preguntábamos ..”Que va a pasar ? De repente oímos una voz que nos gritaba ! a los dos nos grito en inglés pero lo que decía era algo así como OIGAN ustedes dos YA PÁRENLE LEVANTENSE !! vamos a calentar esas manos de la manera vikinga !! MUÉVANSE Y póngase a tocar AHORA!! Y enfrente de nosotros estaba ese hombre grandotote altísimo el VIKINGMAN y eso hicimos paramos de estar pensando tarugadas y nos pusimos a tocar el VIKINGMAN siempre traía consigo una botella de algo , no tenía casa pero tenía un corazón de oro ! por los siguientes tres meses se convirtió en nuestro ángel guardián de las calles nos avisaba cuando iba a llegar el policía que según checaba que no usáramos amplificadores también le ordenaba la gente que paraba a escucharnos que nos diera dinero que no fueran agarrados o stingy ! VIKINGMAN tenía una historia de vida muy triste atrás de su vida como vagabundo el era un amante de la música tenía un gran sentido del humor y lo más importante Es que tenía un corazón enorme!!
