NDV - “Brooklands“ play-through (Taken from the new Big Big Train record “Ingenious Devices“)

Today (June 30, 2023) is the release of the new Big Big Train record “Ingenious Devices“. To commemorate this fantastic record I did a play-through of the middle section of the song “Brooklands”. It is probably one of the most exciting pieces of music I have ever recorded. I absolutely love the energy of this new version and it is a blast to play. I am also using some new Sabian cymbals which are just awesome! The record itself features new versions of a trilogy of revered Big Big Train epic tracks – “East Coast Racer“, “Brooklands“, and “Voyager“. The record also has a live version of the song “Atlantic Cable“ from our tour in September 2022. The new band lineup is totally rockin’! These tracks prominently feature an elite 17-piece string section recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. Apart from the late David Longdon’s lead vocals, which have been compiled from the original album sessions, “East Coast Racer” is a completely new studio version recorded by the line-up of the band as it was in 2019. “Brooklands” features newly recorded drums, bass, and bass pedals, while “Voyager” includes additional guitar and violin.
