The Beatles | I’m Only Sleeping | Instrumental Cover (Acoustic, Electric, Bass, Organ)

This is my instrumental cover of ’I’m Only Sleeping’, one of my favorites from Revolver! I love all their experimental, psychedelic songs from this era. Please subscribe for more videos, so close to 500! The backing track for this song consisted of John and George playing their Gibson J160-E’s, Paul’s Rickenbacker bass, and Ringo on drums. For this I am using my Epiphone J45 and Axiom 4001 copy. The drums were used from this website: A big part of Lennon’s guitar sound is sending it through the RS127 compressor plugin. For overdubs, George played two guitar parts that would be reversed through the tape machine. One through a fuzz-box and one without. Paul also contributed a third guitar part during the outro. My best guess is that George played his Stratocaster. It’s sounds the most accurate, and it features on tracks like ’Taxman’, recorded only a week earlier. To recreate this, I used my own Strat, and my Epiphone Casino for Paul’s line. Also, I found no source for this, but I’m almost certain I hear an organ of some sort throughout the song. It’s particularly apparent during the middle eight, over the chords Am to Am7/G. Since this isn’t actually confirmed, I’ve kept it very low in the mix. Finally, tape varispeed was used to slow down the song before recording John’s vocal, giving the track it’s ’sleepy’ feel. This changed the original key of Em, to Ebm.
