The station was closed on Sunday’s allowing the band to film uninterrupted. Lynyrd Skynyrd played at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, Tennessee in 1975. In 1984, Marvin Gaye’s funeral took place at The Forest Lawn Cemetery, Los Angeles. Many artists attended including Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder. In 1986 John Mellencamp’s rock anthem “. In the USA” peaks at #2 on the U.S. music charts. Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994 by a self inflicted gun shot to the head at his home in Seattle. A high concentration of heroin and traces of Valium were found in his body.
