’Let’s go Brandon’: Massachusetts welcomes Biden with heckles before climate speech

Residents of the Massachusetts town of Somerset have welcomed President Joe Biden with a heckling chorus of “Let’s go Brandon” – shouting at the Democrat to go home. Mr Biden visited the town to announce action against climate change which he branded an “emergency” and signalled imminent executive action. His remarks, however, were overshadowed by a gaffe in which he said he has cancer, the latest of his manifold public blunders. The Australian’s Washington Correspondent Adam Creighton said the gaffe was part of a “general decline” of Mr Biden’s cognitive ability. “It’s getting worse and worse, I tell you, and if it continues at this rate by the beginning of 2024, he won’t make any sense at all,” he told Sky News Australia. “You can just feel the embarrassment amongst his advisers in the White House about it.”
