From her 1976 LP, “Classical Barbra,“ Streisand, accompanied by the composer, acquits herself quite nicely in this premiere recording of Ogerman’s Pushkin setting. One year later, this lovely composition would once again find its way onto vinyl, via Robert Farnon’s magnificent orchestral arrangement, performed by Singers Unlimited on 1977’s “Eventide“ (reissued on CD in 2008 in & in 1998 as part of “Magic Voices“).
