The Quickness Of The Hands (1929)

Giovanni of the Piccadilly Cabaret performs some sleight of hand tricks. “Under the sinister touch of Giovanni, the hardest ebony wand magically disappears.“ The magician Giovanni rolls the wand up in a piece of newspaper. He suddenly screws it up and produces the wand from his jacket. He is given a ring by another man. The other man holds the wand at each end and Giovanni magically flicks the ring onto the wand. Giovanni does a card trick. A stooge shows a card to the audience then puts it back in the pack and shuffles it. Giovanni messes around with the cards a bit then throws the whole pack in the air. He catches one and - magic - it is the one the other man had chosen from the pack. Was an item in Pathe Pictorial issue number 581. Flash-frame intertitles. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
