Goatroper!!!! 🤩🤩 Goatroper is the duo project of artists Abbey Janii and Michael Lee. Often a 4-5 piece band, I was lucky enough to get to sing with the two of them in the Big Green Bathroom. One of those John Prine songs that just makes my brain go all kinds of AHHHH about his magic poetry. And Abbey and Mike’s harmonies on this - that also made me go AHHHHH. After knowing each other as high school theater friends, Abbey and Michael reconnected in Covid and Goatroper was born. Having just released their debut album a few months ago, they have a string of shows on the horizons and we get to talk a bit about that, a bit about leaving day jobs, making free days, Piano Recitals, Equity Mondays, I use the word ‘tableau’, and now I’m realizing I should have TOTALLY ASKED THEM ABOUT THE NAME GOATROPER!
