Ranking (And Singing!) Every Soprano ’Aria’ in the Gilbert and Sullivan Operas

This is my most ambitious one yet, because I sing all the songs I’m talking about! Interestingly, this is one where I came away feeling like our list could be improved. Maybe our parameters were off- because we included a comic potential category it meant some of the most-loved but very serious arias fell shorter than I would expect them to. Can anyone think of a solution to this? I don’t think it’s fair not to include points for comedy because so many of these numbers are good BECAUSE they are funny, and these are meant to be comic operas! Perhaps I could include a more vague category in which a number could get 20/20 for being EITHER tragic OR comic? Any ideas? I’ve included a list below the spoilers to suggest I how feel like the ranking SHOULD have gone. A reminder that these lists are not concrete and I am taking ALL comments into account, unless the comments are stupid. *SPOILERS BELOW* 00:00 - INTRODUCTION 03:15 - 26.
